Hello! Welcome to A Cup of Cold Water. I’m Elizabeth.

I wanted to make a space where I could consider all sorts of ideas in conversation with other people. I’m not one to shy away from controversial or challenging topics. First though, a little about me:

  • Coptic Orthodox Christian

  • Historian

  • Developing theologian

  • Chaplain

  • Disabled, and thus by necessity, a Disability Accessibility Advocate

  • Equal parts serious and silly goose

My academic work, service in ministry, and hobbies often intersect through advocacy, disability theology, and art history. If you want to find me in the wild, you’ll likely spot me riding my adult trike, gardening, shooting nature photography, reading, or making art. I’m also a secret hockey fan. (We all contain multitudes, right?)

My hope is that exploring ways to think about God and our faith will be for us a cup of cold water— refreshing, challenging, and in the end, be what serves and sustains us as we run this race.

I won’t be charging subscribers for now. I’m getting my feet wet, and as I grow, things may change.

Thank you for being present here with me.

I can’t wait to hear from you.

Sometimes what refreshes us also challenges us. This is a space to consider all of that which asks us to grow in our faith.
